About Penny Marsh, LMFT
Penny Marsh brings a unique blend of warmth, honesty, and practical insight to her work as a therapist. From an early age, she was the friend people turned to for clarity, support, and grounded advice—the one who could listen with empathy while offering the truth that needed to be said. Today, she brings that same presence into the therapy room, creating a space where clients feel safe, supported, and gently challenged in meaningful ways.
Penny describes herself as both a soft place to land and the voice that speaks the difficult truth when it’s needed. Her approach reflects a genuine commitment to helping people grow into healthier, more empowered versions of themselves. She finds deep fulfillment in witnessing clients reconnect with their strengths, heal from painful experiences, and move forward with renewed confidence. For her, therapy is a “selfless yet selfish” profession—because while she is there to support you, she also finds joy in seeing your progress and transformation.
With experience across individual therapy centers, inpatient treatment, community-based family work, and psychiatric hospital outpatient care, Penny brings a well-rounded and deeply informed clinical background. She draws from CBT, DBT, mindfulness models, TF-CBT, solution-focused therapy, behavioral approaches, and person-centered practices. Her work is rooted in building rapport, understanding each client’s unique needs, and tailoring therapy to fit their goals and style.
Penny believes strongly in the power of thought awareness, affirmation, and challenging unhelpful patterns, while balancing that with acceptance and self-compassion. She sees clients as the experts of their own lives—her role is to help them access the tools, confidence, and inner strength they already possess.
When Penny isn’t working with clients, she enjoys time with her family and her beloved pets, often outdoors near the water or in the woods. She also loves relaxing with a good movie or riding around on her electric scooter—simple joys that reflect her appreciation for balance, grounding, and connection.
